''Gadira petraula'' is a moth in the Crambidae family. It was described by Meyrick in 1882. It is found in New Zealand. The wingspan is 16.5–20 mm for males and 9.5–11.5 mm for females. The forewings white, tinged with greyish and irrorated with blackish. The hindwings are grey, but darker posteriorily and with a pale line just before the hindmargin. The larvae feed on lichens growing on rocks,〔(Transactions and Proceedings of the New Zealand Institute, 1913 (Vol. 45) )〕 from beneath a light shelter of silk. They live in a crevice. The larvae have a sluggish appearance. They dark greyish-fuscous on the back, but much lighter on the sides.
